Prophecy fulfilled: You can Leave the Church.. but Can't leave it alone...

",,,Before you joined this Church you stood on neutral ground. When the gospel was preached good and evil were set before you. You could choose either or neither. There were two opposite masters inviting you to serve them. When you joined this Church  you enlisted to serve God. When you did that you left the neutral ground, and you never can get back on to it. Should you forsake the Master you enlisted to serve it will be by the instigation of the evil one, and you  will follow his dictation and be his servant.” [Quoted by Daniel Tyler in “Recollections of the Prophet Joseph Smith,” Juvenile Instructor 27, no. 16 (15 August 1892): 492]

This quote is well said, but point-of-view problamatic. If the church is true then yes we would "forsake the master you enlisted to serve it will be by the instigation of the evil one"...but.

What if the church is false? Then this quote would have no meaning at all. Like a new age cult proving their truth by their own revealed scriptures. The POV of this quote renders it useless.

Your activity and rabble rousing on other forums and even the snide comment you made on my blog shows that "we can leave the church...but the self centered members cannot leave us alone".

Instead of your drive by comments would you like to have an honest exchange on ideas without stabbing each other with quotes that have little to no meaning to the other?

Hi Gunner,

A. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter~Day Saints, is the "real deal", it is TRUE~ I know this personally for a fact. I can't give you this knowledge, it took me years of studying, praying searching etc. and personal revelation to find this fact out. Like my scientific life, I had to dissect, study, pray, work hard, keep the commandments, have faith, repent when necessary etc and then and ONLY then, did these very personal, spiritual experiences happen. While going through this process I did however, feel the Holy Ghost, became more and more peaceful, content, successful (yes, financially, and in everyway.). The Gospel of Jesus Christ is like an amazing compound (chemistry talk:) I put it to the test and it works for me. Joseph Smith is a Prophet, because ALL of his prophecies have come to pass or will come to pass. I don't "rabble rouse" on other forums. I fight ****intolerance_***prejudice****(as a Jew and a Mormon, I find the exmormon hatred of all things Mormon disgraceful. Just as the hatred of all things Jewish is disgraceful.. it is hatred and bigotry.. simple as that.)

I fight ignorance and hate in all forms. I don't hate "sinners" or "exmormons" or anyone for that matter. On the contrary, most who have worked with me and know me, know that I love people and love to champion the underdog and those who don't have a voice.

Gunner, much of what I say "pricks" the hearts of the exmormon crowd, because what I say is the truth. Let's see if you can answer, for yourself, not me, the following questions honestly:

1. Are you happier, more successful, healthier and more content since leaving the Mormon Church?

2. Do you feel more love in your heart toward your fellow man since leaving the Church?

3. Why do you keep talking against the Church, sinking deeper and deeper into depravity and hatred, rather than moving on and doing good in the world and being happy? (that's for all exmo's not just you)

4. If you really think we (active mo's) are all brainwashed morons..why not pity us, why hate us and why the jealousy?

I don't say that to "rabble rouse". It's not like exmo's are really being kind when they say we are all stupid, or talk about bombing the Church, or playing headgames with family/neighbors who are mormon etc.. This is PREJUDICE.. in should not be tolerated. I try to fight prejudice and speak the truth. Most active Mormons I've met throughout the world (we travel a lot) are some of the happiest, most kind, generous, intelligent human beings I've ever met. Outside the Church I have met some of the same fine individuals.. But hatred, and those who hate..are all the same essentially: Miserable. Not all exmo's are hate-filled. The ones that are I try to address to point out their hate and misery.

It is not the members that are self centered.. LDS have a wonderful reputation because they are very compassionate and kind/generous. i.e. "helping hand" during Katrina and the thousands upon thousands helped every day worldwide by Church philanthropy by individuals and the Church as an organization..

I always ask exmo's: "If you don't want you HT or VT coming by etc. My husband is a former BP, write a letter, and ask politely to please not bother you, period". If you do this, you will not be bothered. Instead I hear "well, my HT brought brownies, so then I let the jerk in" etc. Situations where exmo's are playing headgames with people, other human beings trying to do something good in the world by visiting these miserable individuals. Or trying to use the Church for this or that. I know this is a stereotype, but I get it right from the internet! Also: If you are going to leave the Church.. don't start smoking, taking drugs, going off the deep end. Tha just makes the rest of us active mo's think your nutso...

Well, I know these quotes "stab" Gunner. Truth hurts.. "The Sword of the Lord cuts at the heart of the wicked, but is a balm in Gilead to those who love the Lord and do His will.".. The quotes I give you or anyone for that matter have meaning. Whether you recognize it has to do with perception, your perception and where your head is now. When in darkness, it is difficult to perceive truth. When a person looses that Spirit, that guidance it is truly the "mists of darkness" spoken of in the BOM.

"If the church is true then** yes we would** "forsake the master you enlisted to serve** it will be by the instigation of the evil one"."

hello just cruising by and reading and yes i have a comment. i WAS in the church for almost 30 years and have offically left. I will answer to this quote. IF you leave the church and IF you seriously believe that the church is a lie, like I do, THEN you should not leave the church alone!! You in love should do all that you can do to rescue these misguided people. Yes, I am happier, Yes, i love my fellow man even more. I do pity you and feel sorry for you and even cry for you because I have been there. If talking against the church is telling the TRUTH then yes most certainly. Dont MORMONs do it everyday when they go out and invade our homes and our lives and our religions to teach us about the doctrines of SATAN. Yes, we should protect our loved ones and it is MORMONs not me that are sending hate letters, you ask why is it that the Mormons cannot do as it says in the articles of faith let us believe what we want to believe and get out of our faces. I could say more and more about hateful mormons than anyone wants to hear, I LIVED IT FIRST HAND, and yes I paid FULL tithe and went to the temple and all the true blue mormon things, but thankfully the HOLY GHOST spoke when it was time and taught me the truth about Joseph Smith and God. Just like Mormon that want to baptize everyone into the church dead and alive we want to save you from Satan too. Get real out there it is a war and Satan will not win. If you were Satan what would you do to lead good people away, build a false religion with a false prophet. there you have it in a nutshell

Sandee, Thank you very much for your comment. I understand your position, believe it or not. I have a dear sister, my best friend who feels very much like you do. We speak all the time, and we respect each others point of view. Through the years she's learned to mellow: meaning: yeah sure, Satan takes a bunch of ppl teaches them to live morally clean lives, help others and the world with food supply, the 10 commandments, stuff about Jesus Christ. Well I have to tell you Sandee, Satan is a lot smarter than that! He is not going to create a religion with the "by the fruits ye shall know them" slogan in which they strive to give good fruits to the world. I know there are a lot of bad mormons, there are also alot of ____ fill in the blank: athiests, muslims, catholics, agnostics, wicca etc etc. You get the point. I've studied anti mormon, feminist, former mormon, other religious organizations anti mormon stuff (for real) when I was an apologist (for LDS, on my own) I'm a very good journalist, if I may say so:) I worked for CNN Headline News before becoming a biochemist (in 2011) I pride myself on research, data and information gathering. Besides many many so called "facts" of the anti mormon literature I've studied being grossly incorrect, lies or just plain biased, I also through the years had personal revelation and spiritual experiences that defy any scientific or earthly explanation. i.e. an NDE in 2007. I will not write a book, nor go into my NDE because it is sacred to me. Suffice to say, There is a God, and Jesus Christ is our Savior, the Savior of all those willing to repent and come unto Him. This is the core of my personal spiritual belief and my activity in the LDS Church. Like Jesus Christ said when asked if the Devil sent him by the pharasees: " A house divided against itself cannot stand."
